SRACA SA invites you to attend a free educational webinar which is open to anyone with an interest in sterilisation and reprocessing. Fran will host a recorded presentation on the Selection and Use of Sterilisation Wraps by Terry McAuley, an Infection Prevention and Control Consultant who runs her own independent business STEAM Consulting. There will be an opportunity for live Q&A with Fran.

Terry will describe the process for manufacturing non-woven sterilisation wraps, including the testing that is required for all sterilisation wraps.

The webinar will also include the type of materials making up the non-woven fabric and their role in providing best microbial barrier and will demonstrate the most common styles of wrapping medical devices in non-woven sterilisation wrap.

International Standards applicable to Sterile Barrier Systems will be reviewed.

Fran was born and brought up in Adelaide, and trained as a Registered Nurse at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and then completed midwifery studies in Melbourne.

For the past 20 years Fran has worked for various corporate organisations where she have had the pleasure of working with many of us. Fran has have a passion for education and Best Clinical Practice to provide best possible patient outcomes.

Fran has been with Softmed Pty Ltd for two years. Softmed is an Australian manufacturer of non-woven fabrics. The factory is in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, it has a Level 7 Clean Room with HEPA filtration, a NATA certified laboratory on site and it operates 97% off the grid due to rooftop solar panels.
